“Le Sweat Jo le Boxeur” – Vintage Crewneck Sweatshirt – Indigo Overdye

From the boxing ring to the indigo vat.

The “Jo le Boxeur” by FLEURS DE BAGNE was originally an orange vintage crewneck sweatshirt. For this exclusive special edition, we collaborated with FLEURS DE BAGNE to create something truly one of a kind.

The sweatshirt was taken to Blaudruck Koo in Burgenland, one of the last traditional blueprint workshops, where it was overdyed with genuine indigo in an elaborate, completely manual process.

Indigo Overdye – by hand, piece by piece.

Each sweatshirt is dipped into the indigo vat multiple times. Depending on the desired color depth, this process can involve up to ten dyeing cycles. In between, the piece is oxidized repeatedly, allowing it to acquire its characteristic indigo color layer by layer.

The result is not a uniform industrial product.

It is alive.

The coloring can vary from piece to piece, showing clouds, shading, and irregular areas—and it is precisely these differences that make each example a true original.

No two sweatshirts look exactly the same.

But the most exciting part comes when you wear it.

Beneath the deep indigo, the original orange color of the sweatshirt remains. Through friction and regular wear, the indigo will slowly change. High-stress areas will begin to fade, gradually revealing the orange underneath.

This means: this sweatshirt doesn't just get older.

It tells its own story.

With every wear, new contrasts, new shades, and an individual patina emerge. Sleeves, cuffs, seams, and other high-stress areas will develop differently than less-worn parts.

You can’t buy this fading.

You have to wear it.

This special indigo version of the “Jo le Boxeur” was realized specifically for the LowDown and is strictly limited.

No regular FLEURS DE BAGNE model. No industrial washing. No artificial vintage look.

Instead, an original sweatshirt completely reinterpreted through traditional craftsmanship.

Hand-dyed. Individual. It hardly gets more limited than this.

Important information about the dyeing

Indigo is a natural dye with a character all its own. The pieces were washed after the dyeing process; however, slight color transfer may still occur, especially during the first few wears.

Please also note that color differences and irregularities are explicitly part of this special edition. They are not a reason for complaint but are the intended result of the manual dyeing process.

Every piece is different.

And that is exactly what makes it special.
