THE ARTWORK – LITTLE CHOP DESIGN KNUCKLE

KNUCKLE by LITTLE CHOP DESIGN is responsible for the artwork.

Based in Gifu, Japan, the lowbrow artist is one of the renowned artists in the scene. His work combines classic American tattoo art, motorcycle culture, and a distinctive underground aesthetic.

He is particularly known for his exceptional airbrush and sculpture work. His international projects include official figures and artwork for AC/DC and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES.

The central motif of this long-sleeve top carries the message:

A tribute to those rides, experiences, and moments that you never forget.

Another striking statement is:

An uncompromising attitude that perfectly suits the WESTRIDE philosophy: Either you go your way with full passion or you leave it be.

THE FABRIC – ORIGINAL LOOPWHEEL COTTON

However, the real highlight lies in the material.

WESTRIDE uses ORIGINAL 16 THREAD LOOPBACK COTTON made from 100% cotton for this vintage print series.

The fabric is made on historic loopwheel knitting machines. In this traditional production method, the knitted fabric is produced slowly and without excessive tension in a tubular form.

The special feature: The machines are suspended from the ceiling, so that the yarn is processed by its own weight. This creates a particularly soft, airy, and pleasantly natural material with a characteristic vintage texture.

Due to the extremely slow production, these machines can produce just around 1 meter of fabric per hour!

The use of traditional spinning technology also ensures the characteristic horizontal irregularities in the fabric. Exactly these small differences give each piece its authentic vintage character.

AUTHENTIC VINTAGE CONSTRUCTION

WESTRIDE also consistently looks to historic models in the processing.

The long-sleeve body is made in a classic tubular knit construction and comes without side seams.

Particularly interesting is the processing of the lower hem: Here, WESTRIDE uses the traditional TENCHI-NUI technique, a classic single-stitch hem finish, as found on historic T-shirts and long-sleeve tops.

At the neckline, however, a robust TRIPLE BINDER construction is used. In the more heavily stressed areas, additional seams and reinforcements provide the necessary stability.

The result is an exceptionally comfortable long-sleeve top with an authentic vintage character and a pleasantly relaxed fit.

IMPORTANT: The long-sleeve top is delivered UNWASHED. As it is a traditional cotton loopwheel fabric, it may shrink during the first wash. Please take this into account when choosing a size.
