With the OPEN WIND SHIRTS, WESTRIDE presents a reinterpretation of the classic American open-collar shirt from the 1960s. A timeless design combined with exceptional Japanese textile craftsmanship and a generous dose of vintage character.

The slightly looser cut creates a relaxed silhouette and the authentic look of classic American workwear and motorcycle shirts.

THE FABRIC – ORIGINAL SELVAGE FLANNEL FROM NIIGATA

The absolute highlight is the ORIGINAL SELVAGE COTTON FLANNEL from Niigata, Japan, developed especially for WESTRIDE.

The flannel is made from 100% cotton and woven on traditional shuttle looms using a special yarn combination of 10-end warp and 6-end weft yarns.

The BLACK CHECK pattern is created exclusively by combining two yarn colors. The result is a distinctive medium-weight flannel with an authentic old-school look and a pleasantly lively surface texture.

The traditional looms operate with particularly low weaving tension. This creates the fabric's characteristic irregular structure. An insulating layer of air forms between the skin and the fabric, ensuring an exceptionally comfortable feel.

Another impressive detail: Only around 25 meters of this exclusive original WESTRIDE fabric is produced daily at the weaving mill!
