With the PT.L.TEE. 26-04, WESTRIDE launches an exceptional long-sleeve shirt that combines classic American motorcycle culture with authentic tattoo art and Japanese heavyweight quality.
The design pays homage to the legendary American underground scene and combines expressive bandana skull graphics with the distinctive style of classic tattoo art.
THE ARTWORK – COOL TATTOOING MASATO
COOL TATTOOING MASATO is responsible for the exceptional artwork. The Japanese tattoo artist is deeply rooted in American tattoo and motorcycle culture. His work combines traditional American tattoo art with influences from the chopper, hot rod, and vintage workwear scenes.
A special detail is the different lettering on the two sleeves:
“WHY DON'T YOU ROLL THE THROTTLE?”
Meaning: Why don't you twist the throttle? What are you waiting for?
“DIE OR RIDE FREE”
An uncompromising message about freedom, individuality, and the passion for riding.
Behind it lies a clear philosophy: The greatest opponent is not someone else, but your own self from yesterday. It is about enjoying life, going your own way, and constantly challenging yourself.
THE FABRIC – ORIGINAL 16/2 HEAVYWEIGHT COTTON
WESTRIDE also relies on its proven heavyweight quality when it comes to materials.
The long-sleeve shirt is made from a specially developed ORIGINAL 16/2 HEAVYWEIGHT COTTON jersey made of 100% cotton.
The use of double-twisted 16-count yarn creates a particularly dense and robust fabric with a pleasantly soft feel. The additional layer of air within the yarn structure ensures a comfortable feel and makes this long-sleeve shirt the ideal companion for the cooler season.
WESTRIDE – CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
The construction is typical of WESTRIDE and goes significantly beyond that of an ordinary long-sleeve shirt.
The fabric is first knitted on traditional circular knitting machines. The side seams are then opened and finished with an elaborate double-seam construction. The inner seam allowances are neatly trimmed back.
The neckline receives a robust TRIPLE BINDER finish, while all hems are reinforced with W-STITCH seams.
The result is a durable, shape-retaining heavyweight long-sleeve shirt that retains its quality even with regular wear.
WESTRIDE also takes an individual approach to the printing process: Depending on the design and color scheme, different techniques such as water-based printing, semi-rubber, discharge printing, or crack printing are used.
